Hello,
This is Simon with the latest edition of The Weekly. In these updates, I share key AI related stories from this week's news, list upcoming events, and share any longer form articles posted on the website.

Using AI to help with AI tools is very helpful.
Last week, I wrote about how using Claude Code has helped me bring an old website back to life. Since then, I've taken things even further. I've signed up for a developer account with Anthropic, which gives me access to the API. In practice, this means I can write code that connects my website to Claude, which is similar to a chatbot, but working entirely in the background. The useful part is that I can write a prompt directly in the code and use the response on the website. This allows me to generate text that stays relevant and updates automatically based on the rest of the site's content. If that sounds a little abstract, here's an example.
On my coffee website, the home page has a section highlighting the top three best-rated coffee roasts. Originally, I'd written a fairly flat paragraph: "Here are the top three best-rated coffees on Gourmet Coffee London." Now, with AI, it reads: "London's current top picks tell a clear story: there's real appetite for East African complexity right now. Both the Ethiopian Banko Dhadhato and the Rwandan offering showcase bright, fruit-forward profiles…"
It's far more engaging, and it actually describes the coffees rather than just listing them. Better still, the text updates automatically each time a new coffee enters the top three. I think that's genuinely impressive.
The other thing worth noting is that without Claude Code, I'd have struggled to build any of this. Which makes it rather satisfying that I'm now using AI to help me use AI.
