NotebookLM Custom Audio
Google have updated the Audio Overview feature in NotebookLM so that you can now customise the response.
Following on from my original post on the excellent NotebookLM, Google have been doubling down on the impressive Audio Overview feature. I wrote about this in my previous article, detailing what, at the time, was a new capability in NotebookLM that appeared to have really grabbed the interest of users and propelled the product forward.
Building upon the first iteration of Audio Overview, you can now customise the audio response. This allows you to get the audio to pay specific attention to a certain aspect in its response, or perhaps you want to take more of a deep dive in a given area.
From my quick experimentation, I can say that it works really well. As some fun, I have a note set up with just one data source, which is my CV. Listening to the conversation back and forth was great, but now, I can customise the audio with a prompt such as "dig into the technical experience in Simon's CV", and it duly obliges. You can hear the technical focus the audio now takes below:
I think this is a very good update from Google, and takes what was a pretty interesting feature into something even more useful now by giving the user more control over their output. Something that's useful for any GenAI solution.
Have you tried NotebookLM yet? What do you think of the Audio Overview?
